Fuzanglong Dragon
For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with dragons, folklore and mythology. With my love of crochet, I want to create amigurumi that is memorable and has a story. Inspired by Chinese mythology, I created this pattern for Fuzanglong. He is a Chinese underworld dragon of hidden treasures. If it peaks your interest, you should look into the Fuzanglong myths and stories. It’s always fun to learn new things. Anyhow, I took this opportunity to really go crazy with all the sparkly and crazy soft things I love. I hope you find this guy as enjoyable as I did!
Finished size of Fuzanglong is approximately 46” in length
SUPPLIES
5mm hook
Assorted Acrylic Stone Mix, flat back (I used approximately 200 gems, various shapes, colors and sizes)
1 pair safety eyes in preferred size (example shows 30mm)
Glue of choice OR sewing needle and matching threads
¼” metallic gold braid lace trim (or any ¼” trim of choice) approximately 7yds / 6.5m
Scissors
Large needle for sewing pieces together (optional)
Latch hook (optional)
YARN
Premier Parfait Chunky Glitz #6 Super Bulky:
Sage Glitz approximately 10.5 oz / 300g / 327yds / 300m / 3 skeins
Sunshine Glitz approximately 7 oz / 200g / 218yds / 200m / 2 skeins
Example shows Hometown for mane, mustache and tail. Since writing this pattern, I have found it to shed too much for my liking. I would strongly recommend faux fur yarn or similar.
