This floppy cat doll is based on the Galacticat plush seen in Starfield. It’s a MODERATELY difficult pattern with some ADVANCED assembly on account of the helmet (the helmet is optional though and this pattern includes instructions for both!). The instructions involve a bit of skipping around depending on whether you want to include a helmet or not. There are a lot of step-by-step images for the parts that I thought might be tricky. This space cat is a bit simplified, but you can feel free to add more details/modify the pattern if you’d like.

Materials and Supplies
• Worsted weight yarn in black, orange, gray, and yellow
o Less than 364 yards of each (364 yards is a regular skein of Red Heart Super Saver, which is what I used)
• Stuffing material
• A 4.5” empty plastic snow globe. I used these - https://a.co/d/hKcFwOX. The pattern is specific to them and if you use something different you might need to tweak the pattern a bit.
• Size F crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Pins (optional, but strongly recommended for positioning the parts before attaching – bobby pins work great)
• Stitch marker (optional, but recommended for marking the beginning/end of rnds)
• EXTRA OPTIONAL: Feel free to wire your arms and/or legs and/or tail and/or add weights to the feet to make your cat posable/able to stand - whatever you want. I didn’t do any of this because I wanted a floppy space cat.
• MORE OPTIONAL: I couldn’t come up with a good way to do the whiskers because my brain has become too smooth. You can definitely drill small holes in the helmet, but I’m not sure what would make good whiskers because they are quite thick. Attaching them through the holes in the helmet would also be a pain. By all means, if you have an idea, try it!

Abbreviations/Skills Needed
• Ch: chain
• Sc: single crochet
• Sl: slip stitch
• Inc: increase
• Dec: decrease, invisible decrease if working in the round
• St/sts: stitch/stitches
• Rnd/rnds: round/rounds
• FLO: front loops only
• BLO: back loops only
There is also a bit of pretty easy surface crochet.

Whip stitch/running stitch can be used to join the pieces. You can use whichever you prefer. I lean whip stitch.

Gauge: 4 sts/in and 4 rows/in. Gauge actually does matter if you want the head to fit properly into the helmet. Gauge matters less if you aren’t going to be adding the helmet. I normally do not say this, but if you’re planning on making the helmet version, do a little gauge swatch or you might end up with a too big or too small head for the globe!

Finished Galacticat measures about 18” in height with the helmet, a little shorter without it.
