Galahad was inspired by the legend of King Arthur, and was named for one of the knights of the Round Table. The grid-like stitch pattern is a modern interpretation of chain mail, geometric and masculine in design.

Knit from brim to crown, Galahad’s stitch pattern is created by a 10-round repeat of knits and purls. The grid pattern decreases in scale as you move up the crown into the decreases of the hat. Each of the three sizes calls for a slightly different height and width, making this pattern highly customizable.

Galahad is written in three sizes:

Small: 20.25” around, 8.25” tall
The small hat fits like a classic cap, snug to the head without being too tight. Perfect for a man with a smaller head size, or someone who prefers a hat that fits closer to the crown. The small hat uses around 115 yards of worsted-weight yarn, and is shown in Soot and Old World.

Medium: 21.75” around, 9.5“ tall
The medium hat size has moderate slouch and a little extra height. It’s a nice in-between size with some give in the brim. This size uses around 135 yards of worsted-weight yarn, and is shown in Artifact.

Large: 23.25” around, 10.75“ tall
The large hat size has quite a bit of slouch, and enough height in the crown to fold behind the head a bit. A casual knit for a man who loves a big, slouchy fit. This size uses around 170 yards of worsted-weight yarn, and is shown in Pumpernickel.
