GALE FORCE COWL
By Karen Bourquin
Afternoon walks along our city’s five-mile Sea Walk, with a gale blowing and waves crashing on the beach, inspired this design for the GALE FORCE COWL.
Once this cowl is tucked snug into your jacket, it will keep you warm and cozy while enjoying Mother Nature’s powerful
display!

The GALE FORCE COWL is worked flat with straight needles or worked flat with one circular needle. The easy-to-work Purl Flat Braid Cable is framed by three rows of Fisherman’s Rib, above
and below. The cowl is finished top and bottom with a crisp slip stitch edging. Mattress stitch is worked to seam and complete the single loop cowl.
