The Galvanized Beanie is a close-fitting unisex knit hat with a cabled brim and stockinette crown. The brim is provisionally cast on, knit in a tube, and then grafted together. Stitches are then picked up along one edge of the brim and knit upwards to form the crown.

Suggested Yarn
2 (2, 3) skeins of Cascade 220 Sport or
approximately 220 (270, 340) yards | 200 (250, 310) meters of comparable sport-weight yarn (164 yards per 50g | 150 meters per 50g) with good stitch definition

Gauge
26 sts and 35 rows over 4” | 10cm in stockinette

Please note row gauge is important for this pattern because of the way the brim is constructed. Pay close attention to how long the brim is getting when you’re close to completing the repeats.

Materials Needed
- size US 4 | 3.5mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)
-size US 4 | 3.5mm needles for working a small circumference in the round
- a cable needle or spare DPN
- a small amount of sport-weight yarn in a contrasting color
- spare circular needle of similar size as your main needles
- yarn needle to graft and weave in ends
