Gambling with Color is our super fun and gorgeous new shawl pattern that you’ll make over and over again! We’ve put together these harmonious kits in fingering and worsted! Gambling with Color uses dice (or a random number generator) so that you can create a new, unique shawl every time you make it. It is also great for using up leftovers - you can pop them into these kits as a supplement or build your own from our fantastic yarns!

Gambling with Color can be made to be any size - the fingering version requires a Size 5 needle and the worsted requires a Size 9 - but use any needle that give you the fabric that you like. No need to worry about gauge, counts, or anything else with this awesome choose your own adventure shawl!

Gambling with Color will be free for the first 1000 downloads with code FREEGAMBLING and free with the purchase of any of my other patterns (add both to your cart before using the code) and code FREEG for one week and it is always free in our kits!

Gambling with Color was our July SOS Box - if you don’t want to miss out on August, head here to learn more or sign-up!

SUPPLIES
150 – 300 grams of 6 different fingering weight yarns or 300-600 grams of 6 different worsted weight yarns, find kits at island-yarn.com – you want these yarns to be harmonious, but different enough from each other that the changes show
Size US 5 (for fingering weight) or US 9 (for worsted weight), 32” circular needle
Darning needle for weaving in ends

GAUGE
@20 sts=4” stockinette stitch, blocked on fingering weight version
@14 sts = 4” stockinette stitch, blocked on worsted weight version
Exact gauge is absolutely unnecessary on this shawl, just use the needle size for your yarns that gives you a slightly drapey shawl fabric

FINISHED SIZE
Any size triangle, sample here is approximately 52” long x 24” deep
