THE GAPTOP …

… is a modern lace design that can be worked either as an airy summer top or as a versatile slipover for year-round layering. A simple lace pattern creates a beautiful linear texture, while optional intarsia colorwork offers the choice between a clean solid-color version and a striking multi-colored design.
The back is worked first, with stitches then picked up for the front so that the lace pattern flows seamlessly across the shoulders. Simple increases around the neckline and armholes shape the garment. Double-folded hems worked in stockinette stitch are added later to contrast the textured lace fabric. In the single-color version, the body and hems are worked in the round; in the multi-color version, they are worked flat to facilitate the intarsia colorwork.
Whether worked as a lightweight top or a cozy layering piece, the GAPTOP is a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

GERMAN

DAS GAPTOP …

… ist ein modernes Lace-Design, das sich sowohl als luftiges Sommertop als auch als Slipover für das ganze Jahr stricken lässt. Ein modernes Lochmuster sorgt für eine geradlinige Struktur. Das Top kann einfarbig oder optional mit Intarsien mehrfarbig gearbeitet werden.
Zunächst wird das Rückenteil gestrickt. Anschliessend werden Maschen für das Vorderteil aufgenommen, sodass das Lochmuster ohne Unterbrechung über die Schultern verläuft. Einfache Zunahmen formen Hals- und Armausschnitt. Um einen Kontrast zu der Textur des Lochmusters zu schaffen, werden alle Säume werden glatt rechts gestrickt.
In der einfarbigen Variante werden Rumpf und Abschlüsse in Runden gearbeitet; in der mehrfarbigen Variante werden sie zur Vereinfachung der Intarsien in Reihen gestrickt.
Ob an heissen Sommertagen als luftiges Top getragen oder als zusätzlicher Layer für das extra bisschen Wärme im Herbst und Winter - das Gaptop ist ein Allrounder und lässt sich ganzjährig tragen!
