I have crocheted coasters to place in cup holders of cars, and agree with people who say that they are useful for absorbing moisture and spills. While there are a few crochet patterns available for car cup holder coasters, I could not find any knitting patterns for them, so I finally came up with this garter stitch pattern.

Cotton yarn is suggested.
