The Garter Edge Vest is a casual, easy-to-layer V-neck vest with a relaxed silhouette and deep armholes.
It is worked seamlessly from the top down, with the garter stitch neckband and armhole bands knitted at the same time as the body.
The back neckline and shoulders are worked first, with short rows used to shape the back shoulders. The back body and armhole bands are then worked flat to the underarms. Stitches are picked up along the shoulders to work the front sections down to the base of the V-neck, where they are joined. The front and back are connected under the arms with small gussets, and the body is worked in the round down to the ribbed hem. Since the vest is knit topdown, the length can be adjusted during knitting (note: yardage will vary with adjustments).

These measurements can be achieved only with the correct gauge. Please select the size that gives you the desired ease based on the finished measurements. The model is 1 m 62 / 5’4” tall and is wearing a size 2, with approx. 16 cm / 6¼” of ease in the bust.

GAUGE
20 sts and 29 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch with 4 mm / US 6 needle, after blocking.

The samples are size 2, each using 4 skeins of Biches & Bûches “Le Lambswool” (170 m / 186 yds per 50 g skein) respectively in Dark Green Grey and Grey Brown.
Note: To help even out the gauge difference between garter stitch and stockinette stitch with blocking, a natural fiber yarn is recommended. Synthetic fibers like acrylic may not respond well to blocking. The sample uses a non-superwash, 100% wool (lambswool) woolen spun yarn.

NEEDLES
4 mm / US 6 circular needles, 80 cm / 32” or longer.
3.5 mm / US 4 circular needles or two sizes smaller than larger needles, 80 cm / 32” or longer.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get gauge.

OTHER MATERIALS
Tapestry needle, stitch markers, removable markers, waste yarn.

Garter Edge Vestは、カジュアルで気軽に楽しめるVネックベストです。
トップダウン方式で、衿とアームホールのガーター編みを身頃と一緒に編んでいくので、とじはぎや拾い目の必要がありません。
まず後ろ衿と肩から編み始め、引き返し編みで後ろ肩部分を作ります。後ろ身頃とアームホール・バンドは、脇下まで平編みで編んでいきます。次に、後ろ身頃の肩から目を拾い、左右の前身頃をそれぞれVネックの底まで平編みで編みます。Vネックの底で左右の前身頃をつなげた後、脇下で前後身頃をつなげ、アームホール・バンドの下にマチを入れ、その後、裾のリブまで輪で編んで仕上げます。編みながら試着して、身頃の丈をお好みの長さに調整することも可能です（その場合、糸の使用量が変わる点にご注意ください）。
ゆったりとしたシルエットにすっきりとしたVネック、深めのアームホールで、色々なシーンに合わせやすいベストになりました。ぜひお好きな糸やサイズで編んでみてください。
