This is a cosy and snug cowl, ideal for throwing on over a light coat or filling in those awkward gaps you sometimes get around your neck.

Although it is written for Icelandic Plotulopi yarn, it can of course be made using whatever you prefer, just remember to check your gauge for size implications.

It is also ideal as a ‘stash buster’ pattern, as the stranded colourwork can be made up of whatever bits and bobs of yarn you have spare, rather than being specifically the main yarn. This allows you to have glimpses of colour (or sparkle).

It is also fully reversible, with the inside being knit in a basketweave pattern that helps it to be extra cosy, and also adds to it’s structure, giving it sufficient body to stand upright, and keep those draughts at bay.

A quick and fun knit, I hope you enjoy the pattern.

(If knit double stranded in the gate pattern, and single stranded in the basket pattern, you can expect to use a maximum of 600m - however, this will change depending upon whether you choose to use additional colours inside the gate pattern or not).
