“Gather Round” - gather all those leftovers from projects already knit. Gather all those itty bitty ends from shawls loved and cherished. Gather all those precious nuggets of yarn from socks you just can’t bear to throw away. Gather them round and create a beautiful cowl that only you will have to keep or gift to someone special.

Some call them scrappy projects, I’ve called this one “Gather Round” because they’re a collection of gathered yarns from projects past and present.

The pattern has instructions for two variations of this chevron stitch pattern. One with a purl round at the change of colour only and a second which repeats the purl round more regularly. The cowl is knit in the round using a small circular, but you could easily adjust it to knit using the magic loop or travelling loop method.

Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles (or size needed to get gauge).

Gauge: 24 sts x 28 rows per 4 inches using 3.5 mm (US 4) needle in chevron stitch after blocking.

Yarn: Any fingering weight yarn.
Variation 1 - 7 x 5g mini skeins = sample used all of each mini = total approx. 35g
Variation 2 - 7 x 10 g = sample used approx. 7 g of each mini = total approx. 50g
