The Gauss Infinity Scarf melds color values and interference patterns to generate an eye-popping, graphically stimulating design which is sure to become your favorite fun accessory. The circular construction results in a double layer scarf that keeps wind at bay, and can double over on itself effectively covering your neck.

It can be easily resized, and repeats on a 46-stitch color work chart, so size how you see fit! I provide yardage amounts for 7 repeats, so if you use fewer, you’ll use less yarn, more, more yarn.

When choosing colors, in order to achieve the effect in the sample, choose contrast colors 1, 2 and 3 in different shades of the same hue, and with a main color that has high contrast with the CCs 1, 2, & 3.

Construction begins with a provisional cast on, stockinette to a tubular edge, the color work chart, another tubular edge, and then stockinette back to where you cast-on; finally finishing by grafting the two edges together. If a long Kitchener finish is not your vibe, you can finish with a 3-needle bind off instead.

Gauge Swatching
Swatching isn’t super necessary in this case, you’ll almost never hear me say this though. If you know you tend to knit tighter than most go up a needle size.

Gauge
20 stitches and 31 rounds per 4” x 4” square, color work/stockinette in the round
Your stockinette color work gauges may be a little different, but in the grand scheme of this pattern it shouldn’t matter.
