Years ago my boyfriend asked me to make him a Gengar hat. Many years passed and he got many other lovely knitted gifts, but never a Gengar hat. Until now.

This pattern was born from a dream of a young boy for a Gengar hat together with the wish for a subtle design. The result is a colourwork hat in which Gengar, Gastly and Pokeballs are featured.

I had an absolute blast designing this piece. Not just because of the fun colourwork and the challenge before me, but mostly because of the joy in the face of my boyfriend as Gengar, Gastly and the Pokeballs apppeared row by row on my knitting needles.

I knitted this in Finlandia Shetland, but any 100% wool should work. I suggest you strive to find a colour combination that works well together and to get some pictures from Gengar and Gastly out as reference when picking your purple and lilac!
