Geode is a large crescent shaped shawl, knitted in one piece with 1 section repeated 5 times, starting with a few stitches in the center and finishing with many.

Yarn: I used my own hand dyed 4ply merino
Merino 4ply yarn @400m per 100g
I have used hand dyed colours that have tonal variations
Choose 2 lighter colours and 2 darker colours,
I have colour combinations of yarn available on my Etsy shop

The pattern uses 4 colours, and plays with combinations of stripes and stitch patterns to create the textures and shapes.

I have created a selvedge technique to deal with the numerous ends, so there are only a few to stitch in at the end.

The pattern is divided into 4 parts:
Parts 1, 2 and 4 have charted and written instructions,
Part 3 has only written instructions. This section does take a lot of concentration, but is very satisfying when it comes together. In the last section, the pattern flows and it is more relaxing to knit, with regular stitch patterns forming.

By the time you are working part 4 there are a huge number of stitches by this time, but the pattern falls into a rhythm and flows.
