The Georgiana Sweater is a stranded color work design with a circular yoke. It features a 3 color octagon motif that creates the look of an abstract honeycomb.
Knitted seamlessly from the top down, it’s designed to have a slightly relaxed fit and hit just above the hips.

The sample pictured here is knitted in Plucky Knitter Luxe Merino Worsted.

General Construction Notes:

  • The Georgiana Sweater features a circular yoke that is knitted seamlessly from the top down.
  • It begins at the neck, where the knitter can choose a folded hemmed neck or a traditional ribbed neck.
  • Short rows are then worked to raise the back for optimal fit.
  • Next, the color work chart is knitted which includes yoke increases. To maintain the same gauge as stockinette stitch, most knitters find it helpful to go up a needle size when knitting stranded color work.
  • Sleeves stitches are then placed on hold while the body is worked in the round. The body can be knitted to your preferred length. If you choose to lengthen your sweater, please be mindful that additonal MC yarn will be required.
  • Finally, sleeves are transferred back to short circumference needles and worked in the round to the cuff.
