GENERAL INFORMATION

Get a Shift On is a gloriously cosy cowl designed to make the most of a collection of beautiful colours. Stripes of colour stand out against a dark, grounding background before gradually blending together in a vibrant final section.
Malabrigo Sock is held double to create a warm, squishy fabric with plenty of drape, while simple garter stitch lets the colours take centre stage. Worked flat on the bias and then seamed, its generous triangular shape wraps snugly around the neck and extends down at the front to keep out the winter wind.

MATERIALS
Recommended yarn:
This pattern uses Malabrigo Sock held double. Substitute light fingering held double or DK held single, and swatch to check gauge. Thicker sock yarns held double may make gauge difficult to achieve; if using thicker yarn, you can reduce to six colours. Yarn requirements may differ from the table below.

Needles and notions:
3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles, or needles required to obtain gauge (see below).
Tapestry needle to join knitting and sew in ends.

GAUGE
On 3.75 mm (US 5) needles, 23 sts & 46 rows to 10 cm / 4 inches in garter st after blocking.

SIZE
Circumference: 62.5 cm / 25 inches. Length at front: 44 cm / 17½ inches. See schematic above.
