Machine Knitting:

If you have a knitting machine and are looking for a beginner pattern to learn on, I got you girl! Not only does this pattern have step by step instructions with photos to help guide you through the pattern, I’ve got a video tutorial that goes along with it where you can make the top along side me. And if you’re a seasoned machinista, this is a super cute new top for you to make!

Aside from seaming, this bra top is made 100% on the machine. Two hours and you’ve got yourself a cute new top, woohoo! The pattern includes guidance for modifying the pattern if you are between sizes or outside of the size range offered, and is made custom to suit your cup size and bust measurements.

While I used my LK150 and worsted weight yarn to make this top, I wanted to make this design inclusive for all flat bed knitting machines and yarn weight preferences. The pattern includes calculations you can do using your specific gauge so that you can insert your numbers into the pattern and make it work for you.

I’ve created a video tutorial walking you through all of the techniques used to make this top, including casting on, doing mock ribbing for the bottom band, increasing, decreasing, putting half of your knitting on hold to work the underarms and neckline, working the straps in I-cord, using mattress stitch to seam your top, and Kitchener stitch to join the front to the back. The video tutorial can be found on my blog here:

Hand Knitting:

The hand knitting pattern is constructed in 2 pieces so that you can knit it with straight needles, with guidance for adapting it to be worked in the round so you will have minimal finishing. You can also use any yarn, needles, gauge, etc, and your own personal measurements to calculate your perfect bra top pattern using the step by step formula included in the pattern!

Links to all techniques are included.

Enjoy!
