Beaded to look like a special Christmas gift, these sparkling decorative ornaments will last through family Christmas celebrations for years. Once you master the beaded double crochet and twisted beaded double crochet this will be an easy pattern to make multiples for decorating the tree.

Although this is an intermediate pattern, beaded stitches are the reason for this level. If you have worked in rounds and with beads this will be an easy pattern to use.

This pattern uses a beaded double crochet. Each double crochet has two beads per stitch. This is different from the beaded double crochet seen on other sites. It also includes a twisted beaded double crochet and this beaded double crochet is worked from the back to the front so that the beads remain on the right side of the work.

For this ornament, size 8 beads work best, but a variety of sizes can be used. The smallest size that will fit the yarn is size 8, but larger beads can be used. Larger beads will change the gauge, but several rows repeat and can be eliminated to fit the ornament.

Glass ornaments in a square shape can be found at a variety of craft stores.

Enjoy making a crocheted Christmas decoration for the family Christmas tree or make them as gifts for your friends and family. They are sure to make the family Christmas tree festive!
