Giotto
Giotto was inspired by my visits to Italy and the powerful images and beautiful colours of the Romanesque frescos in the churches and museums.
To evoke a feeling of age and beauty, I also decided that a textured body would be a lovely contrast to a colourful, stranded yoke: I chose a twisted, false cable stitch, when blocked lightly, gives a delicate drape.
There are 7 sizes to this sweater with approx 5cm of positive ease.
The pattern includes full gauge information including measurements when lightly blocked.
To get the exact look of Giotto I have used my own hand-dyed yarn which has been locally source and is a mix of sheep: Masham and BFL.
Because I do hand-dye my yarn there is an option to order any colour from my range.
There are 8 different colours in Giotto, all happening at the yoke.
