I designed this pattern for the 2017 LYS Tour (Local Yarn Store Tour) for my shop, All Wound Up, located in Edmonds, WA.

The 2017 LYS Tour was all about community. Our theme, “Stitch Two Together” emphasized reaching out to others and showing love and kindness. I think the Supertramp song, “Give a Little Bit” says it so beautifully…

“Give a little bit. Give a little bit of your love to me.
Give a little bit. I’ll give a little bit of my love to you.
There’s so much that we need to share, send a smile and show you care.”

In that spirit, we encourage you to make 2 pairs of mitts. Keep a pair for yourself, and give the other pair to someone who could use a little bit of extra love.

Palouse Yarn Company created a special set of Merino Fine “Halfsies” for the Tour. They included 2 mini skeins equaling the total weight and yardage of one traditional skein. With one set of 2 colors, customers could make two pairs of mitts by switching the dominant color between pairs. With 2 full size skeins of Merino Fine, you will be able to knit 4 complete pairs of mitts.
