This is an adult sized helmet based on the most complete viking era helmet ever found, at the Gjermundbu farm in Buskerud, Norway in the 1940’s. Made using two strands of double knit yarn held together, the helmet is very warm and will cause quite a stir if worn on the school run in winter. The helmet is made in two pieces - the Eye Guard and the Main Helmet, with surface crochet used to add detail and texture once the two pieces have been joined.
