About

The Glacis Skirt is a fitted mini skirt with a straight silhouette for a flattering fit. An elastic band at the waist ensures a neat and durable finish. A decorative seam runs along the sides.

The skirt is worked from the top down. First, stitches are cast on using a provisional cast-on. A waistband is knitted, and then an elastic band is inserted at the waist. The skirt is first shaped with Japanese short rows (fully explained in the pattern), while side increases are initiated. Next the skirt is worked in the round on circular needles, with increases. The hem is finished with a double-folded edge. Finally, the decorative seams are sewn along both sides of the skirt.

Size Guide

Sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) are designed for a waist measurement of approx. 65 (72) 80 (85) 90 (100) cm and a hip measurement of approx. 87 (94) 102 (110) 118 (128) cm.

The Glacis Skirt is designed to fit snugly at the waist with the help of the elastic band, while the hip area is recommended to have about 0-3 cm of positive ease.

The model in the photos is wearing a size 2 with one extra increase round at the hips.
