Like the matching Glittering Quartz Hat, these mitts are inspired by the sparkle of quartz mined in the quarry that sits across the valley from our homestead. The undulating texture shows off the shimmering quality of the mohair/silk yarn held with a wool base.

Yarn requirements:
Approximately 150 (170) yards each of a fingering weight yarn held together with a mohair + silk lace weight. One skein each of the fingering weight and lace weight is enough to knit both the mitts and the matching hat.

If you prefer to knit with a single type of yarn, choose a DK weight wool blend with some mohair, silk, and/or tercel for a shiny, sparkly fabric.

Suggested yarns, 1 skein of each:
Ocean By the Sea Twirl, 100% Corriedale wool yarn, 437 yards per 100 grams, and Ocean by the Sea Mohair Silk, 72% mohair, 28% silk, 459 yards per 50 grams.

Tools
Three stitch markers, gauge tool, scissors, darning needle.

Techniques
German Twisted Cast-on, Knitted Cast-on, Yarn Over Bind-Off.
