One happy clown, one sad clown!

You can really go to town with these colourful characters and use up scraps of brightly coloured yarns. Mix and match the features and styles of dress to create a whole troupe of clowns.

As with all our puppets, they are extremely easy to make and will stand up, like dolls, when not being used as puppets.

The puppets in the photos were made from Double Knitting (DK) yarns; other similar yarns can be used.

They are small enough to be manageable for a child but there is enough stretch in the knitting for adult hands.

Puppets provide hours of fun for children playing together or alone and can also be used as teaching aids. These puppets have padded heads, with space for the fingers inside. When the fingers are removed the heads keep their shape so the little people can be played with, and put to bed, like dolls.

Some children have a fear of clowns. We have many other pairs of puppets.

Note: The circumference of the head should be approximately 21 cm (8.5”) when stuffed.
