Gossamer Bubbles is a soft summer scarf or wrap with a pattern of lace circles in drop stitch mesh. The Kidsilk Haze Stripe yarn creates an ethereal accessory, ideal for summer evenings.

This pattern combines drop stitch mesh with a fuzzy yarn - an unusual pairing as fuzzy yarn tends to stick to itself and resist opening into a mesh. Rather than waiting for the end of a repeat to drop columns of stitches, in this pattern stitches are dropped on RS rows of the bubble motif and each dropped stitch is immediately replaced by a yarn over.

The finished scarf is left unblocked with a wavy edges to preserve the soft fluffy texture of the bubbles.

The bubble pattern is a variation of Camino Bubbles and
will look good in variegated colorways and in the solid Kidsilk Haze colors. The pattern is easily customizable in width and length for a more substantial shawl.

The sample was knit on 5mm/US8 needles with approximately 1 ball/50g/420m/460yds of Kidsilk Haze Stripe
(70% Super Kid Mohair 30% Silk) color 361 “Chiaroscuro”

Dimensions: approximately 48cm/19in x 145cm/57in
Gauge: approximately 16 sts and 19 rows = 10cm/4 inches in the bubble lace pattern

The final version of the pattern (bottom image) has slightly more substantial ribbed edges at the top and bottom
