GRAMPS SLIPOVER is a cozy, oversized vest with a boxy shape and rather deep armholes, perfect for layering over shirts and dresses.
The vest is knitted top down. You will start by casting on stitches for the back of the neck and shaping the shoulders with increases. After that the back and front panels are worked flat down to underarms, and then joined to work the body in the round. Ribbing for armholes and neckband is picked up and knitted in the round.
As the slipover is knitted top-down, you can also decide on the length as you go. The pattern and the yardage have been given for an average height of 165 cm / 5‘5’’ and a slightly cropped fit. Please adjust the lengths according to your individual body measurements.
The measurements listed below are for the final vest after washing and blocking. This pattern comes in 9 sizes (1, 2, 3) (4, 5, 6) (7, 8, 9) with finished bust circumference measuring (95.5, 104.5, 115.5) (124.5, 135.5, 144.5) (153.5, 164.5, 173.5) cm / (38.25, 41.75, 46.25) (49.75, 54.25, 57.75) (61.5, 65.75, 69.5) inches and is meant to be worn with a positive ease of 15-30 cm / 6-12 inches at the bust. The wearer is 162 cm / 5‘4’’ with 91 cm / 36.5 inches bust. Sample 1 (grey) is shown in size 4 with 30 cm / 12 inches of positive ease at the bust and Sample 2 (brown) in size 3 with 24.5 cm / 9.75 inches of positive ease at the bust.
