Crochet a sweet heart motif Cushion Cover to snuggle up with!
These would add a loving touch to your home, or make a wonderful gift.

This pattern uses the Granny Stripe stitch to create a gradient effect design, but you can use any colour combination you like.

Cushion Cover designed to fit a cushion insert measuring 42x42cm (16.5x16.5”).
The actual finished measurements for the cover will be approx. 40x40cm (16x16”) for a snug fit.
For a plumper cushion, you can use a 45x45cm (18x18”) insert instead.
I purchased my cushion inserts, in both sizes, from Dunelm.

You will need:
Aran/Worsted weight cotton yarn in 4 colours - A main background colour and 3 other colours.
MC = Main Colour (Background colour) - Approx. 385yds (5x50g)
CA = Colour A (The lightest shade) - Approx. 50yds (1x 50g ball),
CB = Colour B (The middle shade) - Approx. 70yds (1x 50g ball),
CC = Colour C (The darkest shade - Heather) - Approx. 60yds (1x 50g ball).
I have used Drops Paris Cotton yarn.

You will also need a 5mm hook (or size needed for gauge), a 42x42cm or 45x45cm Cushion Insert, 4 stitch markers, yarn needle and scissors.

If you want to add a lining to your cushion, you can modify a pillow case. I have given guidance for this at the end of the pattern. Or you can make a similar slip using fabric.
