Granny's Tulips Blanket
This gorgeous textured feminine blanket featuring pretty tulips is a very versatile blanket for size and colours. You can make any size you like from baby blanket to double bed. Made using DK yarn it is not too thick. You can substitute the DK yarn for Aran/Worsted weight yarn for a lovely winter warmer. You’ll use a 12-row pattern repeat meaning you don’t have to count over and over.
This pattern is written for up to single bed size. If you wish to make it bigger, increase your starting chain in multiples of 3.
You can use any number of colours that you wish. The more colours, the prettier it will be.
You could use Aran weight yarn for a cozy winter blanket (just be aware that your blanket will end up bigger). Ensure that you are using a suitable hook size. I personally go up 0.5mm for a more drapey feel.
Size guide and approx. yardage needed:
For this pattern I used StyleCraft Special DK
Yardage for different colours used will vary. For the baby blanket size I had a ball for each part of the tulip and used around 30g of green and 50g of Pink.
Note: You can use Aran/Worsted but be aware that your blanket will be larger than the guide below
