This single crochet afghan is on the larger side of baby blankets but I can almost guarantee that they will be using this blanket for years to come! I used an 8ply yarn but a 10ply would also work, just size up with your hook.

This blanket can be crocheted either bottom up or top down and you can either carry the yarn within the work or carry the yarn behind the work on the RS and in front on the WS (fair isle) and then back the work to hide the thread. Those of you clever enough could even work this in Tunisian (or learn to single crochet left handed so that the right side is always facing you - just takes a little bit of practice but easy enough to work out!)

Written instructions are bottom up so if you want to work from top down, just start from the bottom of the last page and work backwards.

This blanket has been made using 4 Seasons Marvel Soft 8ply yarn - 5 skeins for the Griffin and 6 for the background.

Add a border of your choice or leave as is.

This blanket works up to be approximated 100cm x 145cm
