GRÍMA
These mittens are unusual in that they are knitted sideways.
According to information from the Textile Museum, they were knitted by an unknown student from the Iceland College of Education. The main color is brown and the stripes are white.
They are knitted in garter stitch and sewn together on the thumb side; the thumb is knitted separately and sewn onto the mitten.
Stitches are picked up and knit for the cuff, which is worked in the round with white stripes. These mittens are simple to knit, but a bit of time has to be spent finishing them. An enjoyable project for the knitter who wants to try a different kind of mitten.
