Grünersgate is primarily a pair of statement sleeves that are knitted in two-colored cables and with a double-knit cuff. The sleeves are knitted in the round and steeked before being sewn onto the body: a stockinette bolero/cardigan or sweater with a folded edge in a contrasting color. The garment is knitted from the bottom up.

Yarn:
The wrong yarn can make the garment heavy, warm and verging on unwearable. I recommend using a blow yarn with about 150 m on 50 g, that will give you a gauge of 17 sts on 10 cm in stockinette.

Original yarn:
Sandnes Kos: alpaca, wool, nylon (150 m on 50 g)

Alternative yarn:
Järbo Llama Soft: llama, polyamide (150 m on 50 g)
Jord Clothing Fluffy: merino, alpaca (150 m on 50g)
Drops Air: alpaca, polyamide, wool (150 m on 50 g)

You will also need: Cable needle, stitch markers, scissors, pins, needle to fasten loose ends, sewing needle and thread/sewing machine or crochet hook to secure before steeking edge. Buttons for the cuffs. Cardigans and boleros will also need press stud(s) or buttons for the front. Sweaters also need an elastic for the neckline.
