Notes From the Designer:

•I’m a big fan of comfy, oversized tees, but that doesn’t mean they have to be frumpy. A simple lace pattern in the bodice and drop sleeves adds a feminine touch and keeps this top from becoming boring.
•This is a great piece for beginner garment knitters as there is no waist or sleeve shaping, and minimal neck shaping. The front and back pieces are knit flat and seamed, with stitches picked up and worked in the round for the neck and sleeve trim.
•Rated for adventurous beginners and up. This pattern uses simple increases and decreases for the lace section, three-needle bind off for the shoulders, and your preferred seaming method for the side seams.
•Hadi is named after a character from a historical fiction manga called Red River. Set in ancient Turkey, the story revolves around the solidification of the Hittite Empire at the beginning of the Iron Age. Hadi is the eldest daughter of a chief whose tribe is the only tribe that possesses the knowledge of how to make iron, which is a powerful bargaining chip for the Hittites. Hadi is a warrior handmaiden who serves Princess Yuri, and she’s one of my favorite characters. I like a no-nonsense female character who can hold her own against all the boys in the sandbox. Hadi is the kind of woman I’d like to be when I grow up: she’s comfortable in her own skin regardless of whether she’s playing a maiden or a fighter.
