> Haft Hood

Haft Hood
Haft means embroidery in Polish, which is a key feature of this design. This pattern includes a guide on how to use cross stitch on knitwear. The goal is to knit a basic balaclava with not-so-basic finishing touches—creating an everyday accessory that feels personal to you.
MATERIALS:
4 mm circular needles
3.5 mm circular needles
40 cm cable
80 cm cable
YARN:
I recommend a chain yarn ( 50 g / 125 m ). The metrage given will provide enough yarn to knit each design ( without the cross stitch ).
1.To make a plain hood with a contrasting edge:
approx. 250 m of colour A ( base )
approx. 10 m of colour C ( contrast )
2.To make a striped hood with a contrasting edge:
approx. 125 m of colour A ( stripe 1 )
approx. 125 m of colour B ( stripe 2 )
approx. 10 m of colour C ( contrast )
SIZE:
one size : 24 cm x 34 cm
GAUGE:
24 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles
