- Red Heart Super Saver yarns: yardage needed

  • Size “I” (5.50 MM) hook
  • Size “H” (5.00 MM) hook
  • Size “F” (4.00 MM) hook
  • Size “E” (3.50 MM) hook
  • Size “D” (3.00 MM) hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Small amount of fiberfill
  • Optional: Safety pins
  • Recommended: this really makes it easier to sew parts on beanie just right o Styrofoam head o Stick pins

Notes:

  1. This pattern was created with the beginner in mind, there are no complicated stitches
  2. This pattern is written in US terms for the right handed crocheter
  3. This pattern contains 4 sizes: a. XS- toddler (1-3)- fits head circumference up to 17” b. S- child (3-5) – fits head circumference up to 18” c. M- child (6-12) – fits head circumference 20”
  4. This pattern was tested with Red Heart Super Saver yarns only
  5. Gauge using HDC and size “I” (5.50 MM) hook: 12 rows= 4”, 14 sts= 4”
  6. Chains at beginning of rounds do not count in stitch count
  7. Stitches in brackets are repeated by number of times following the bracket
  8. Numbers in parentheses at end of rounds indicate total stitch count for round
  9. Written pattern is 10 pages and incudes full color, step-by-step, photo tutorial for both Vegimal characters Barrot and Halibeet
  10. Finished product: wash in cold or luke-warm water, tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry
