Spooky rats are frequently part of Halloween displays, but if creepy is not your thing, why not make a cute and harmless rat instead and dress it up with seasonal accessories, ready to go trick-or-treating?

The hat and bag in this pattern were designed as an add-on to my Hooded rats (and Fancy rats) patterns, but could be used with any similarly sized amigurumi.

Size
The hat is about 6 cm (2 ⅜”) wide and 3.5 cm (1 ⅜”) tall, and the bag is roughly 2.5 cm (1”) wide and tall, if they are made with DK yarn.

Tools and materials:
~ yarn in purple, black, yellow, and orange
~ crochet hook that gives you a tight, no-gaps fabric
~ stitch marker, scissors, yarn needle
~ optional for the pumpkin face: black felt, transparent sticky tape, fabric glue

Difficulty
This is a quick and easy pattern for crocheters who are confident with basic stitches and frequently used amigurumi techniques (ch, sc, sl st, magic ring, working in FLO, invisible decrease). The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology.
