The design for this Happy Holidays Shawl was inspired by the festive season. When the long, dark nights are upon us and the Christmas lights have been switched on in the town centres, it makes the darkness look ever so pretty and twinkly. I just love seeing everyone rushing around doing their holiday shopping while feeling ever so slightly frazzled and stressed.

I have used Sheila’s Gold Sparkle Sock yarn by Fyberspates to knit this shawl. This beautiful shade of red with the gold sparkle is just perfect for a festive themed shawl.

This is an irregular pentagon shaped shawl, worked in one piece, from the top down. Casting on requires using the garter tab cast-on method. Beads are optional, but they do add a beautiful touch to this shawl. The edging of the shawl is knitted sideways, attaching the border onto the live stitches of the main body section as it is knitted.

Instructions for the main body section are provided in both written and charted format. However, instructions for the edging are written only.
