Knitting is one of my passions. A day doesn’t go by where I’m not playing with yarn in some capacity. So, it makes sense that when I was getting ready for one of the happiest days of my life, I needed to make sure I was including my passion into the big day.
SO, I made my own wedding shawlette. Getting married at the beginning of May in Illinois can either have fair or foul weather. The temperature changes can be REAL. So, I went with an airy texture, but in a medium thickness yarn to try to cover all my bases.
The Happy Wedding Shawlette is what I came up with.

The shawlette is designed to be buttoned in the front so you can throw it on over your dress and then not have to worry about it slipping off or constantly adjusting it. However, if you’d like, you can always make it stole length if that’s what you prefer! The pattern is easily adjustable.

The pattern includes an optional crochet finishing along the top edge of the shawl. I was a very beginner crocheter when I made this, so the crochet finishing is absolutely beginner friendly.

For the pattern directions, I put approximations for sizes S - 3XL. However, the design is fairly simple, so you’ll be able to make it to exactly the size you need it.

For my shawl, I used Caron Simply Soft in white. It took a little over 1 skein of yarn to finish the small size. However, it will not take more than 2 skein to make any of the other sizes of shawlette. (if you make it stole length, you’ll need more yarn).
