The Harborside cardigan, like its sister, the Harborside scarf, takes its inspiration from weather-worn boards along a dock and fishermen’s netting, as well as ripples of water gently kissing the shoreline.
The main fabric of the sweater features stockinette stitch broken up by garter ridges. The sides are vented with a traveling eyelet motif that forms a pyramid along the sides. The slight difference in row gauge between the eyelet motif and the broken stockinette stitch creates a gentle A-line, with the sides dipping ever so slightly deeper than the front and back hems. The collar and button bands are comprised of beloved, basic garter stitch, which adds another element of texture to the design.
