The elegant, luxurious, smock-stitched and cabled Harper Cowl looks good no matter how it’s styled. The aesthetically pleasing doubled-facing—formed by a folded edge—invites the fabric to drape open. You can place the slit opening over one shoulder or at the top, but our preference is front and center.

Difficulty Easy

Finished Size 28.5” circumference and 9.5” tall.

Yarn Cardiff Cashmere Classic (100% cashmere; 120 yd / 7/8 oz): #608 coral, 5 balls. Yarn distributed by Trendsetter Yarns.

Needles Size 3 (3.25 mm): 24” circular. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Marker; cable needle; tapestry needle.

Gauge 32 sts and 43 rows = 4” in charted patt.

Notes The bottom of this cowl is worked back and forth to form a slit, then the cowl is joined and the top is worked in the round. The bound-off edge of the cowl is folded to the wrong side to form a facing.
