This is a soft and cozy cowl that will keep all muggles, witches and wizards warm. It has 5 pattern repeats but can be made larger if required.

Be warned however, I found that the sample knit caused a full blown sibling war in the house, which was only resolved when I grabbed it for myself. It will be a firm favourite and quick enough to knit up for a Christmas gift.

The rib used is narrow, and I normally prefer to have a big chunky rib, but for this design I didn’t want the pattern to be scrunched up around the neck so that people can see what you’re wearing!

I used just under two balls of the main colour, a full ball of white and about half a ball of the other two contrast colours, so would be a great stash buster.

I chose quite muted colours, but this would work with much brighter colours or monochrome as you wish.

Works best in a soft and fluffy yarn like alpaca. I wouldn’t recommend anything scratchy as it’s quite close fitting, you might also find that cottons etc won’t stretch enough to get over your head.

There will be matching hat and ear-warmer patterns released at a later date once samples have been knitted up.

This is a quick knit in the Fair Isle style, so for people confident in carrying floats and my recommendation is to knit two handed to keep the colour work consistent. There are lots of YouTube videos on how to do this!

This is a colour work chart, knitted in the round on 3.25 40cm Circulars for the rib, and 3.75 40cm circulars for the main body.

Tension is stated, however once you’ve done the first few rows of the chart, your Deathly Hallows triangle should be crisp and clear, if you’re finding that it’s not, I would recheck tension and amend as necessary.
