When Jennifer, of Mulberry & Flax, first shared details of her brand new Great Southern Yarn, I knew I had to try it. A delicious blend of 50% merino and 50% alpaca, this yarn brings the best properties of both fibres to the table. I needed to create something that would highlight those properties, and not detract from them, and I believe a large knitted piece with simple details to be the answer. Stems of twisted rib with sweet buds are interspersed randomly throughout this oversized shawl, offering just enough detail to keep the knitter interested and ensuring the yarn remains the hero.

The sample shown has been knit in the colourway “Stella Bowen”.

HARU has been designed exclusively for Mulberry and Flax’s new yarn, Great Southern Yarn.
