INTRODUCTION:

I was simply inspired by the organic texture and colour of this earthy fiber. I wanted the sweater to feel sharp, and elegant at the same time but casual enough to make it a staple in your wardrobe. Machine wash ability is a huge plus too.

I love layering, it’s a simple concept but when done well it adds depth and modern class to any outfit. This a perfect layering piece. “Harvest” pullover can be styled over a dress shirt, casual top or even a dress. Tweedy texture is very fun, and the stitch I chose gives it the pop it needs.

Overview of design/construction:

Knitted top down in one piece, it’s a fun and quick knit. I chose to knit this top slightly cropped with a half sleeve, but length in sleeve and body of the garment can easily be added. Note, modification will affect yarn usage.

Skills required:
• Familiarity with top down sweater construction,
• Knit through back loop, purl and yarn overs,
• Cast on and bind off,
• Working in the round with circular needles,
• Working small circumferences in the round on dpns, with magic loop or circular needles,
• Simple lace work,
• Working from chart recommended (written chart instructions are included),
• Picking up stitches for the underarm.

Level of difficulty: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate

Materials:
Hemp Tweed by Rowan (sample uses colour Kelp)

Please block your swatch, ribbing pattern has a tendency to grow substantially when washed.
