This is a pattern for a harvest themed cowl using fall colors, just in time for the cooler weather. The cowl features a center of two-color honeycomb brioche bordered by a fair isle pattern on each side. The cowl widens slightly at the bottom, allowing for a more natural fit. Finished dimensions are 13.5” (height) and 22”-27” (circumference).

This cowl uses worsted weight yarn and requires knowledge of the honeycomb brioche stitch (in the round) and stranded knitting techniques. Some basic refresher instructions on the stitch are included. The piece is worked in the round and you will be carrying no more than two colors per row. This pattern has specific instructions for left-handed knitters where applicable.

To knit the piece as pictured, you will need 200 yards of Stonehedge Fiber Mill’s Shepherd’s Wool in the colorway Beaches. Then, you will need 150 yards of the first contrast color, Cascade 220 worsted in the colorway 2431 Chocolate Heather. Finally, you will need around 30 yards of Shepherd’s Wool Roasted Pumpkin and of Cascade 220 worsted Lake Chelan. The cowl is knit on US7 20” circular needles.
