Inspired by my worn-to-death J.C—w roll neck, this sweater is my favorite on its own in autumn, as a top layer in winter, and as a cozy curl up on the sofa (while knitting, of course). This design incorporates short rows at the neck, shoulders and bottom edge to make it move easily with your body and not ride up in back as so many boxy sweaters do. Shown here in My Dye Garden Studio - Harvest “Madder,” the nuances of plant-dyed color are highlighted. The smooth front can also be a terrific blank canvas for your own stripe, intarsia or cable design.
