Mittlets are worked from the forearms to the fingertips with a small, ribbed detail at top and bottom edges. A gusset for the thumb begins at the wrist, with the option to continue increases, as needed, for a larger fit. Gusset stitches are held on scrap yarn and picked up later to complete the thumb which also has a ribbed detail.
What really makes these fingerless gloves special is the striped pattern of plant dyed color. Altering the spot where colors change by a stitch either way will help avoid a weak line from top to bottom.
