This hat was in part inspired by the well known Musselburgh pattern by Ysolda Teague, with my own stranded colorwork twist and different crown shaping. The Hat for Zoe is knit from tip to tip to create an oblong tube which is folded into itself to create a double-layered beanie. The stranded knitting colorwork begins before you decrease near the end of the pattern. This hat is fully reversible, so you could fold it inwards the opposite way to have a solid color beanie.

Sizing
This hat can be worked in three sizes: small, medium, and large: S(M)L. The small hat will fit head sizes that are 20-22 inches around, M will fit heads that are 22-24 inches around, and the L size will fit heads that are 24-26 inches around. The version pictured is a size S.
