In honour of the best documentary I have seen in quite some time, “My Octopus Teacher”, I give you the “Have You Seen My Octopus?” hat. It’s a stranded colourwork hat that has 8 swirling octopus legs and a pompom on top to represent the octopus’ body.
I hope you enjoy the pattern.

Sizes Available:

  • Baby (Child, Adult); Head Circumference: 16” (18”, 23”)

Yarn Used:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn in 2 contrasting colours. I used Malabrigo Rios in Reflecting Pool and Marte. You’ll want at least 50g of each colour for the Baby and Child. For the Adult size, you should have at least 70g of the contrast colour to have enough for the pompom

Needles:

  • 4.00mm and 5.00mm needles in a 16” cord, 5.00mm DPN’s or 40” needle for Magic Loop

Gauge:

  • 19 sts / 4”

Additional Materials Needed:

  • 5 stitch markers, one unique for BOR

  • Scissors

  • Darning Needle

  • Pompom maker
