Hawk Mountain brings you back to nature. The pattern is named for part of the Blue Mountain Ridge in the Appalachian Mountain Chain in Northeastern Pennsylvania. A 2,600 acre Hawk Sanctuary nestled in the chain gives you the best view of the valleys below and the migrating hawks that ride the thermals above.

Hawk Mountain is a warm, double knit pattern that is completely reversible and is designed to fit in a single loop around your neck.

Double knitting in the round is easier on my brain than double knitting flat and a good introduction to the technique. No pesky reversing the pattern in your head as you flip from back to front - the color you see on the chart is the color you knit first! No worrying about selvedge edges! What could be better!

Two colors of yarn are needed with approximately 200 yards per color.
