Haystack Rock is a landmark off the Northern Oregon coast home to a diverse bird population and exquisite, protected tide pools. Made from lava flows down the Columbia River nearly 17 million years ago, we were left with this incredible basalt formation. A sight to behold and home to a thriving ecosystem.

This design is inspired by angles, celebrating natures mastery of shape and color. And anything slightly related to volcanoes

In collaboration with the incredible Kim of Moss and Fern Studio!

SIZE(S)
A (B) – Circumference: 20 (23)” / 50 (57.5)cm; Length: 7 (7)” / 17.5 (17.5)cm

YARN
(1) skein of Dk weight yarn as MC and (1) skein of sport weight handspun as CC; MC: 60g / 156yds; CC: approximately 16g / 51yds
These numbers include a slight bump to account for swatching needs but know that you will need nearly all the MC yardage for the full-size shawl.

HANDSPUN
(1) 4oz braid; two-ply fractal spin achieved by splitting the braid in two parts, then splitting one half into two parts (1st ply) and the second half into four parts (2nd ply). I spun roughly 444yds from 115g / 4oz of yarn which is a heavy fingering/sport yarn but after knitting, it plumped up quite a bit to function as a sport weight yarn.
