The Hazel crochet hat is made vertically, flat, in one piece. Repeating panels are connected as you go. The Hazel stitch pattern is created using short rows and slip stitches and smoothly integrated into the headband ribbing.

You can create a summer beret or winter accessory with a yarn labelled from 1 to 4, customized to your head size.

The diameter of the beret plateau will depend on your yarn choice and crochet hook size (the plateau part of the beret has two variations that are not subjected to changes).

Materials:

  1. Yarn: choose any yarn suitable for a 3.5 mm – 5.5 mm crochet hook, approx. 100 g -150g Solid colours, tweeds, hand-dyed yarns. Variegated yarns will obscure the stitch pattern but can add other interesting effects. Z twist yarns are not recommended for this kind of stitching.
  2. Tapestry needle for assembly and weaving in.
